In a fitting tribute to “Dr. Jack”, who led Portland to its only NBA Championship back in ’77, the Blazers forgo the typical black memorial and break out the plaid. Dr. Ramsay, known for roaming the sideline in his fashionably loud plaid blazers and wide collars (and why not?), is a beloved figure in the franchise’s history, one of the best coaches in NBA history, and will be missed by basketball fans everywhere.

And fitting, the team currently making a run in the NBA playoffs is playing according to Dr. Jack’s philosophy of valuing the team over the individual. Go Blazers!

“Teams that play together beat those teams with superior players who play more as individuals.”
